The Panasonic MJ-L500 is a powerful slow juicer great for fruits and vegetables. It is powerful enough even for frozen sorbet and frozen yogurt with included attachment. The slow compression process crush, squeeze and extract juice with no discoloration, separation or quick oxidation, preserving vitamins and enzymes in the juice.

Now, you don’t have to go to the shops to enjoy frozen yogurt or second guess what they put in them, you can make your own frozen yogurt at home with the frozen attachment.

The benefits of the compression system compared to centrifugal or high speed juicers apart from quick oxidation and separation are that it generates less foam, maintain the flavour of the juice for longer and ultimately, providing all the natural nutrition from your ingredients. The slow grinding motion of the vertical juicing screw paired with a high torque and low speed motor allows for more juice to be extracted therefore minimising wastage.

There is more. You can easily process fruits and vegetables including nutrient-rich leafy greens, wheatgrass, nuts, beans and soy to create a variety of nutritious fruit and vegetable juices, cocktails, soups, sauces, soymilk and marinades. There is just so much potential and so many things you can do with the Panasonic MJ-L500. It is so popular and reliable that it has received many positive feedback from owners.

Now back to the frozen attachment that we are so fond off. It opens up to a whole range of frozen desserts and drinks giving you plenty of flexibility in terms of the type of frozen ingredients to drop in. There is just so many different possibilities from pre-frozen pieces of fresh bananas, carrots, mangoes, strawberries, tomatoes, kiwi or to with frozen vegetable treats. Make your own frozen yogurt, sorbet, iced smoothie, ice creams and other desserts.

Now for the design, the unit takes up very little space on the counter top. It has a small foot print, much smaller that those that we many of the slow juicers we are used to. So much so that we can safely say it takes up the least amount of space on the work surface with the base measuring 13cm x 15cm only. The only appliance that comes close is the Nutribullet but that is no slow juicer, rather a blender and smoothie maker. The base is weighted given its powerful drive motor which is great for stability during operation. It is available in silver, red or gold.

Assembling it can be a bit mind boggling at first but it gets easier and quick to put together. There is a juice and pulp containers and frozen treat attachment included. The slow juicer runs quietly even when juicing hard fruits like apple and carrots. During use, you will find that the pulp can sometimes get stuck to the back of the pulp output tube but this can easily be removed with the included brush. The back of the brush has a small hook that lets you do this.

It is in the cleaning after use that we find a bit cumbersome. Depending on the fruit or vegetable you use, the fibres tend to get stuck everywhere especially the filter, not the easiest to get everything out. We recommend taking out all the moving parts and washing this in warm water immediately after juicing. For stubborn pulps, consider soaking it for a while and shaking it in water.
